How to Make Apple Cider Spice Mix

The first thing you do is infuse the brown sugar with 2 tablespoons of tangerine zest for at least 12 hours.

Place the brown sugar in an air-tight bowl or container add the tangerine zest, cover and let it sit for about 12 hours. I usually do it overnight.

I do this for our Holiday Spice Flat White too, it makes a huge difference.

  1. I had a difficult time finding tangerines, and when I did they were overpriced and not very good. I wonder if I could substitute zest from a navel orange or perhaps clementines?5 stars

  2. I think this is the recipe I’ve been looking for- except I would delete star anise , nutmeg and mace. Made batch up in 2019 ; wanted to duplicate except nutmeg/ mace repulses me and anise does make me physically sick. But I did remember 2019 contained brown sugar.
