Why You Will Love This Recipe
What makes this Buffalo Chicken Pizza great is how easily it comes together while still delivering huge flavor. A rotisserie chicken and store-bought pizza dough can turn this into a quick weeknight dinner, but homemade dough works beautifully if you want to go that route.
The buffalo sauce adds just the right amount of tangy heat, while the mozzarella and Romano melt together into that classic cheesy pizza goodness.
And honestly, there’s nothing better than pulling a bubbling hot pizza out of your own oven. It’s fast, affordable, and often better than takeout.
Ingredients Needed
A handful of simple grocery store ingredients is all it takes to make a fantastic Buffalo Chicken Pizza. You can cook your own chicken, use leftovers, or grab a rotisserie chicken for convenience.

How To Make A Buffalo Chicken Pizza
This recipe does not go into how to make your own pizza dough. If you want to make your own, please see our Easy Homemade Pizza Dough recipe. We highly recommend it. It’s a super easy recipe, an easy dough to work with, and very very tasty!
Step 1
Combine the cooked, shredded chicken with 3 tbsp of buffalo sauce and set aside. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.

Step 2
Prepare the dough as instructed by the package (or have made it yourself). Place it on a floured surface and roll it out into a 12-inch-diameter circle.

Step 3
Spread 3 tablespoons of buffalo sauce across the surface of the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Evenly distribute the sauced chicken over the dough, again keeping that outer edge clear for the crust.

Step 4
Top the pizza with Mozzarella and Romano cheeses. Bake at 475 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes on a baking sheet or pizza stone. When the pizza is golden brown and bubbling, remove it from the oven.

Step 5
Optionally garnish with celery leaves, blue cheese, blue cheese dressing, additional buffalo sauce, and green onion. All of it makes for a great bite!

Hot from the oven, this Buffalo Chicken Pizza delivers everything you want in a great homemade pie. Spicy buffalo flavor, melty cheese, and a perfectly crisp crust. Slice it up, grab a cold drink, and let the good times roll. Better than takeout, hands down!
Tips
Depending on your chicken’s moisture level, you may want to warm it briefly in a skillet before assembling the pizza. This helps cook off excess moisture so it doesn’t release liquid in the oven and make the crust soggy.
If you find it difficult to move the pizza in and out of the oven, assemble it on a piece of parchment paper. The parchment makes it much easier to slide the pizza onto a hot baking sheet or pizza stone and pull it back out once it’s baked.
You do not have to use low-moisture mozzarella for this Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Regular mozzarella melts beautifully and works perfectly.
Variations
You can easily change up this Buffalo Chicken Pizza depending on your taste and what you have in the kitchen.
Ranch Buffalo Chicken Pizza
Swap the blue cheese dressing for ranch dressing or drizzle ranch over the pizza after baking for a creamy contrast to the spicy buffalo sauce.
Extra Spicy Buffalo Pizza
If you want more heat, drizzle additional buffalo sauce over the pizza after baking or add a few sliced jalapeños before it goes into the oven.
Grilled Chicken Buffalo Pizza
Instead of shredded chicken, use sliced grilled chicken breast for a slightly smoky flavor.
Red Onion Buffalo Pizza
Thin slices of red onion add a nice bite and a little sweetness that works really well with buffalo sauce.
