Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Fresh parsley
  • 1/3 cup Fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup Onion grated

Spices

  • 1 1/2 Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 Allspice
  • 1/2 Coriander
  • 1/2 Black pepper
  • 1/2 Garlic powder
  • 1/8 Cayenne pepper a dash

Instructions

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least one hour. Prep herbs and grate the onion.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, herbs, grated onion, and all spices. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into six oval-shaped logs and refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up. Insert skewers through the center of each log.
  • Grill over direct low heat for about 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  • Serve in pita with tzatziki sauce and your favorite toppings or salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave. Great in wraps or in rice bowls.
